Halloween 2009

Aliyah wanted to be a butterfly and Kailee wanted to be a lady bug this year for Halloween. A little while ago I saw some cute costumes in the Pottery Barn catalog and was shocked to see the price of them. The costumes cost $69. So, I thought to myself and figured I could make the same costumes but cheaper. I went to the fabric store, bought some satin and tulle fabric, came home and sewed them their skirts. I made their bows and made their antennas. Over all, I think the costumes turned out wondeful and it cost me less than $10 to make their costumes. Shawn was a cute little monkey, it was the same costume one of girls wore last year. It fit him perfectly and he loved the costume. The kids had so much fun at the church festival playing games and getting all that candy, we also went to another festival and later went trick or treating. Needless to say, the kids are in candy heaven. Enjoy the pics.

Some Catching Up....

Alot has happened since our wonderful Cancun trip and I can't believe it's already August. Summer is wrapping up and the girls will be starting preschool Sept. 1st. They're growing up so fast. Shawn is almost 17 months old. At his last wellness check up he weighed 20 lbs and his height was 30 inches so that puts him in the 5% for his weight and 20% for his height. He can say mama, dada, uh oh, hi, and bye. He can give kisses and wave hi and bye. He loves to play with Scout and tries very hard to keep up with the girls. The girls are speaking so well. It's getting easier everyday to have conversations with them. The girls love to play dress up, sing and dance, they enjoy watching the Barbie movies, they know every disney princess character which they've learned from their panties and not the movies. Aliyah is getting to be so independent. She wants to do everything by herself. Such as putting her own clothes on, bathe, putting her seatbelt on, brushing her hair, etc. She also loves to sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star by herself and have us listen to her. Kailee loves to make up her own songs. She doesn't care who is listening she just enjoys singing out loud. Just this morning she was singing something about Scout being a bad dog. She too is getting to be independent but also enjoys us helping her on occassion. Kailee owns a backpack that she thinks is very special. She keeps all her meaningful pocessions in this backpack and carries it around with her every day. Right now in her backpack she has stickers, a James Avery catalog, some jewelry, a dress, and some panties. It's quite cute to see her carry this back pack around with her. It practically weighs as much as she does. A few things we've done this summer consists of splash parks, pick your own strawberry and blueberry farm, Drillers baseball game, water park in Muskogee, birthday parties, playgrounds, daddy's softball games, Shawn's parents and sister visiting, and the zoo.
